Do you get your money back if you cancel an order on Amazon?

If you order something on the Amazon website and decide to cancel the order will Amazon refund your money?

If you cancel the Amazon order before it is shipped out then you should get a refund on the money you paid.

But if it shipped already then you won't get a refund unless and until you return the merchandise to Amazon.
