What happens to your luggage when you miss your flight?

If you miss your flight what happens to the luggage you brought with you and checked in?

If you miss your flight and have checked your luggage in already with the airport then you need to call the airport and let them know about the missed flight so they can store your luggage for you in a safe place until you make your next flight.
