Depends on what property taxes you're talking about.

But if it's real estate taxes that you're late on then you'll normally just have some penalties also known as interest added onto the real estate tax bill.

So if you only pay a month or even a few years late then you'll just be paying more on the tax bill and still get to keep your house or property as long as it's paid up within 3 years.

After 3 years then the state will put a lien on your house and property and if not paid they'll sell the property at a tax auction and you'll be forced to move out.

If it's personal property taxes that you're late in paying you'll get a delinquent tax notice in the mail and if the personal property taxes are not paid a warrant will be put out to have a sheriff come out to your house to collect the taxes owed or to seize your personal property for taxes owed.

If you don't pay your personal property taxes then you might not be able to get your registration renewal for your vehicles tags either.
