When you use a credit card for purchases should you pay back the balance before the statement comes or should you wait until you get your credit card statement before paying it?

It's better to wait until you're billed and receive the credit card statement before paying on your credit card bill.

Paying too soon can mess with your credit card bills and actually cause you to incur some late fees even though you're paying early.

It's best to pay the credit card bill right after the statement comes and then you'll still be on time with your payments and there's really no benefit to paying your credit card bill before the bill or statement arrives.

It can actually hurt your credit card account to pay too early on your credit card bill.
