How Much Does It cost to run a desk fan?

How much does a desk fan cost to run per month? I want to get one for my room but my dad says it will drive the electric bill too high.

It can't be that much can it?

Your dad must be a tightwad. A small desk fan won't even be noticeable on the electric bill.

I'd say at the high end your little fan will cost about $1.00 a month to run if you run it 24/7 depending on electric rates.

But I'm sure it will probably only cost around 25 cents per month. Even $1.00 a month would be cheap to run it.

The fan will cost you more to purchase.

Mechanic is right. You won't even notice the cost on your bill.

I run several fans to help with window air conditioners and my bill stays around $50.00 for the month with other uses of electricity and 2 window air conditioners along with those fans going.

The actual cost of my electricity use is $35.00 with the other taxes and the rest is $14.00 for a customer charge.
