In my opinion buying extended warranties is not worth spending the extra money.
Most likely your appliance will outlast the initial warranty and certainly should outlast the extended warranty that you purchase.
Really the only one that benefits from the purchase of extended warranties on appliances is the company you bought the extended warranty from.
When you do have a problem with your appliance and use the extended warranty on your appliance it will be a lot of hassle to use the extended warranty to get the appliance replaced or repaired should you need to replace or repair the appliance.
