When an auto repair shop is trying to rip you off they will try to find a lot more problems with your car than the original problem you brought your car in to have fixed.
For example a few years ago I took my car in to have the starter replaced and they tried to say I needed my alternator and brakes replaced when I just had a new alternator and set of brakes put on the car only 6 months prior to that.
If the auto repair shop is trying to say more things are wrong with your vehicle then tell them that you'll think about the other repairs later and have another mechanic check the car over.
Always have another mechanic look over your car for those other problems that they say are wrong with your vehicle.
