The differences between the phlegm and mucus is what the mucus and phlegm contain.

Phlegm is just thick mucus that is produced by the respiratory system and is coughed up from your respiratory tract.

Mucus also known as Sputum is Phlegm with Saliva mixed into the phlegm.
